Memorial Day Nails ft. OPI DS Magic

Happy Memorial Day, sweethearts! Hope you guys are having a great weekend! In honor of this holiday, I kind of wanted to do something red and blue. I'm not too big of a fan of how this ended up looking, but I figured I'd still post it haha. Here's what the nails look like!

I started off with 3 coats of this gorgeous gorgeous polish by OPI. It's called DS Magic. I seriously cannot describe how shimmery and glass-like this polish is! It has a slight purple duochrome, and it's just sooooo beautiful! 😍
3 coats of OPI DS Magic
The formula was quite thin and needed 3 coats, but that's okay because it's part of what adds to the depth and dimension of this polish!
3 coats of OPI DS Magic to show duochrome
So on top of that, I used a striping brush and striped on some yellow and red, and topped it off with a gold glitter polish to make it look like fireworks haha.

I used Sinful Colors All About You as a glitter topper, and Pullover and Ruby Ruby for the stripes.

This was a pretty easy mani to do, and I was able to do it with my non-dominant hand hhaha, congratulate me please xD.

Anyway, hope you guys are having a great day for those who don't celebrate it, and I will talk to you guys soon!

Love,
Christine

Simple Easter Pastel Drybrush Art

Hi guys! Happy Easter! Hope you guys all had a great weekend. Today I have a very simple Easter inspired pastel dry brush mani to share with you guys. Extremely simple! For those who don't know, drybrushing is wiping off most of the polish from your brush and then painting your nails for an abstract stroke look. Let's take a look :3

I started off first with two coats of Ella+Mila Pistache. It's a creamy minty green, the formula is pretty nice, reached a nice opacity and consistency with two coats.

Next, I just picked out 3 colors, a white, a pink, and an orange/yellow to do some random strokes, and here's how they turned out! I used Formula X Brazen, Formula X White Matter, and Sinful Colors Pullover.

What do you guys think? Are you guys a fan of this technique? Thanks for reading and have a fantastic rest of your day!

Spring Blues

Hi Everyone!

It's been a very very long time hahaa, but I'm back to posting about nails! I wanted to use a color that I used on my blog many years ago, and it's Sinful Colors Cinderella. It has definitely been one of my favorites for a long time now, and I still continue to love it! Here are some previous designs that I created using this color:

This time, I layered it over a baby blue to make the color more opaque. Here are my bare nails. So sad that I broke my middle nail ):

Still as beautiful as I remembered! I used 2 coats of Formula X Infatuated for that baby blue base, and one coat of Sinful Colors Cinderella.

<3 div="">Alright everyone, thank you for reading and I'll catch you guys next time!

Spring Pastel Leopard~

Hi my sweetie pies! Hope you're all having a wonderful Saturday! I definitely am, because I went out last night with my girlfriends and had a blast! So today, I want to show you guys this manicure I had on for the past week:

Yay leopard print nails! :D And since it's spring, I felt like using some of my pastels:
China Glaze Dance Baby, F21 Nameless Shimmery Black, Sinful Colors Cinderella
I first put on 3 coats of Cinderella to achieve an opaque baby blue, and two coats of Dance Baby, although it was already pretty opaque at one. Then I just made random shaped dots on my nails, and omg. It looked horrible looool.

Eeeks! Looks like some kind of pastel sea monster lol
But after I went around the dots with the shimmery black, it actually started to look like leopard prints! YAY :D

And lastly, here is a picture with flash to show you the beautiful pink/orange specks in Cinderella! There's a reason it's my FAAAVORITE blue, you know (;

Heheheh, that's it for this short post! I'm off to get a haircut, keeping my fingers crossed that it will turn out well!
Love you guys,
Christine

My Top 5 Polishes of 2012, Lots of Pics :3

Hi everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful, amazing, fantastic, and polish-filled holiday season! Because I sure did hahaha, I ended up with a LOT more polish than I expected :P Anyway, I haven't talked to you guys in so long, missed you guys! :3

Anyway:
Happy New Year! :-***

Honestly, you guys mean sooo much to me, like a friend who will always listen to my rambling and accept my "freak" habit of collecting nail polishes. Hahaha, so the real topic today is to show you my favorites from 2012! I was originally going to pick out 12, but I realized too many of them were unswatched and I honestly don't have that much time to swatch them so I narrowed down to 5! Hope you enjoy (:

#1 Polish of 2012: Lavender Fizz by Milani

This polish is the SPARKLIEST polish I own, REALLY! Like every time I do something, my nails always catch my eye first hahaha, love purple, love glitter, purple+glitter= #1!

#2 Polish of 2012: Flirty Tankini by China Glaze

Beaaaauuutiful neon coral shade from the China Glaze neon summer collection, it's really flattering on my skin tone. Most pinks are extreeeemely ugly on me... I guess my skintone just doesn't work well with pinks! But the orange coral touch in this polish really matches my warmer skintone YAY (: The shimmer in it is sooo gorgeous and makes it very wearable, unlike flat neons! I wore this on my toes TWICE. Seriously, it has to be one kick-ass polish if I wear it TWICE.

#3 Polish of 2012: Sugar Coat by Wet n Wild Megalast

I have to apologize... I don't have a color accurate picture for this polish and its beauty. I have a post about it here, and even made a nail art design here.
This is just a really light soft lavender based baby pink. Perfect palette cleanser for me! Gives me an effortless yet very polished look, really love this!

#4 Polish of 2012: Cinderella by Sinful Colors

This is the base color that I used for like... 50% of my nail art? Hahaha and my bottle's half gone, so that's how much I love it! I have a full review of it (from my earlier days, so pics aren't watermarked, oops!) here, and I even did a VERY EMBARASSING gradient of it here... pains me to even mention it hahaha :P

#5 Polish of 2012: Rare and Radiant by China Glaze (and all the other Chanel Peridot dupes)

This was actually really hard, as you all know, I picked up two colors from the Bohemian collection, and I really love both of them! Hard to choose because they're both amazing colors, but golds tend to be a bit more flattering on me, so I chose this one. Application, finish, duochrome, this polish is GORGEOUS!

Okay, that concludes my favorites of the year! I hope you all had an amazing New Year's Eve, and best wishes to all of us in the coming year! I love you alllll :-***

Jelly Sandwich, Dupe Comparison Glitters, Elf :D

Hey babycakes! Today I have some stuff to show you. Don't really want to talk to much, I've been writing way too much for my college apps so my fingers are kinda like... yea xD
Dupe comparison of American Apparel SuperNova, and Claire's Bedazzled, those multicolored glitters

Middle finger is Bedazzled, pinky and indexed are SuperNova, ring is ELF's Golden Goddess

Base color: Sinful Colors Uniforn, one coat... really sheer haha

I think this was 3 or 4 coats

Golden Goddess! :D Really pretty small silver and gold glitter with big silver and holo glitter. Love :3

I layered another coat of Unicorn over all of it :3
Sooooooo, as you can see, Bedazzled is a bit more glittery, but they're pretty much dupes. (:
Alright, I'm tired. Going to sleep now, night guys :*

Sinful Colors: Unicorn

Sinful Colors Unicorn. This polish.... I'm really sad typing out this right now because I absolutely LOVE pastel yellows and this was one I've been wanting for AGES. And I just got it. And it sucks.

Four coats. Still looks nowhere near perfectly smooth and even...
One coat of streaky mess.

Two coats of streaky mess.

And I didn't even bother taking a pic of it at 3 coats because it practically is the same. Very streaky. The formula  is quite runny, causing pooling at the edges and it's really thin so you really don't get much coverage. The brushes with Sinful can be hit or miss, sometimes my bottle comes with a nice wider brush, and sometimes it comes with a brush that's really really thin... Like the Essie polishes, whose brushes I'm not a fan of either, however, their formula is a whooooole different story.
So anyway, I was thinking of ways to fix the formula issues because it's such a gorgeous color! And I tried layerning it over white:

Index and ring finger both have 2 coats, middle and pinky have 1.
My fault here actually, I didn't apply the white too evenly, and thus resulted in this hot mess. Although it is still not very nice, I definitely will wear this polish layered next time. Because at least over the white, the streakyness and pooling is reduced to a minimum.

Again... Disappointment, because I love this color!!!

Sinful Colors: Cloud Nine & Pull Over

Hi my sweethearts! I have two swatches for you today! I just recently picked these babies up at a Walgreens when they were on sale for $0.99 each! And yes, I have heard the recent controversy about Sinful taking copyrighted pictures for its own use... being a blogger myself, I am STRONGLY against that, but it seems Revlon has taken care of this issue, and properly appologized to those bloggers. Good job, Revlon, props. Anyway, let's get to the polishes.

Here is Pull Over, a gorgeous orange based sunny yellow, the formula of which is... not so good. Take a look:

3 Coats

One Coat of Pull Over
2 Coats

Guess what? EXACT SAME COLOR AS A NO. 2 PENCIL! Not those super awesome Ticonderoga ones, the rather cheap ones. And now I will forever think of pencils when I paint my nails this color. But that's okay because the formula on this will make me think twice about wearing it. It's really streaky... As you can tell by the 1 coat picture. But it's a yellow... So I can forgive it. Just a little bit. I guess this color would be great to wear to school on those days you have to take a Scantron Test with a No. 2 pencil :D

Next color we have is Cloud 9, a gorgeous medium orange jelly base filled with loads of golden shimmer. This polish is amazing!
1 Coat, and whoops, didn't notice there was a piece of string on my nail hahaha. And apparently my camera doesn't like to focus on more than one finger.... .___.

Blurred a bit to capture the amount of shimmer! Gorgeous :3 These are all 3 coats, and I think it's perfect that way
The formula on this was definitely a lot nicer than Pull Over, the shimmer made it smoother and not so streaky. It also has that mixture between a creme base and a jelly base, so it makes your nails look really squishy! Which I like :D

That's it for today~ Thanks for stopping by! KISSES FOR YOU ALL :****
