VELVET SUGAR by Bath and Body Works Inspired Mani

Hi my sparkles! How was your day so far? Today I have a nail art post, (Yay not a swatch finally!!!) haha. It's inspired by this lotion that I've been desperately trying to use up xD I've had it for a while now, it's the Velvet Sugar Body Cream by Bath and Body Works. Not the biggest fan of the scent, but it works!

I wanted to do a mani based on the colors of the tube, originally I was going to do the floss/quilting technique, but I couldn't get that right, so I just went with striping haha. I also stamped on a turquoise floral design.

I used: Sally Hansen "Rupee Red" for the deep maroon color, Formula X "Brazen" for the pink, and Sinful Colors "Mint Apple" for the (little) splash of turquoise.

I originally did this mani in the glossy form, but I think it looked nicer matte, so I added Essie's matte topcoat over it. Here's the original version.

Okay, that's it for today's post! What's your favorite scent from Bath and Body Works? :)

Christine

Fourth of July: FLAG NAILS

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO MY AMERICAN READERS 😍😊
Hope you guys all had a great weekend, and are enjoying your time with friends and family! Today I have a Fourth of July nail design to share with you. Very easy!

I used Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" for the white, Formula X "Omni" for the blue, and striped on Julep "Elsie" as the shimmery holo red. I added a glitter called "Marry a Billionaire" by China Glaze to my pinky to imitate the sparkle of a fireworks show haha. I used the same white polish to stamp on some stars with the Bundle Monster BM14 plate.

These were super fun to wear! I had a lot of fun creating these, and a lot of people complimented me on my nails! Definitely super patriotic haha. Hope you guys enjoyed, and I would love to see some of your designs too! Link them to me via my Insta: @steamiexo or just comment them down below :D

That's it for today, I'll see you guys next time!
XO,
Christine

Fire Engine Studs Featuring Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby and Maybelline Bold Gold

Hi my cupcakes! How have you all been this week? I've had a bad week... just lots of unnecessary drama at  school and stress at home. Obviously, haven't been painting my nails for a long time haha, you can even see in my last outfit post that my nails weren't done. But anyway, here's some pictures I took a while back of a gorgeous polish by Sinful Colors called Ruby Ruby. It's a bright medium red crelly (cream jelly), I would say slightly blue toned. Dries VERY GLOSSY! I really like crellies because they have lots of pigment, but aren't too opaque, making them super versatile! Did that description even make sense? LOL SORRY. Here are some pictures!

I'm not too sure why the gold looks like silver in the above picture lol. Natural lighting does weird things! The gold is Maybelline Color Show in Bold Gold, the perfect metallic classic gold color. I've been loving the look of studded nails, so badass! But sadly, I don't have any studs hahaha, so I compromised with random dots of gold! Actually looks really good from afar (:

And below, I have some pictures of 2 coats of Ruby Ruby. I also filed my nails down to a more stiletto shape because I think red looks better in sharp nails! :D

Hehehe, that's it for today's post~ Off to teach piano now! I'll talk to you all soon (:

Quick Nail Post: China Glaze Hunger Games Riveting and Electrified Gradient

Hello my sweethearts~ I'm just going to take a quick break from some make-up homework and write up a quick nail of the week post for you guys. During my stay at Washington, I had these nails on:

The below pic is taken from my phone, so the color is a bit off. Just wanted to show you guys a fuller picture of what this mani looks like (:

It's a sweet and simple glitter gradient with two China Glaze colors I got from their Hunger Games collection last year: Riveting and Electrified. Riveting is a gorgeous deep orange filled with sparkling gold bits that shimmer like crazy! I only used one coat of Riveting because it's such an opaque polish already! As you can probably tell from the below pics:

1 coat, I swear! Look at the gorgeous shimmer :D
And here is a blurry pic with flash to show you how much shimmer is in here! You can also tell from the bottle that this polish sparkles like CRAZY under direct light! So gorgeous :3

I've gotten so many compliments on my nails already, but honestly it's the polish. Glittery and gorgeous, not to mention very smooth and easy to apply AND LASTS SUPER LONG! I'll definitely be doing more glitter gradients because they're so simple but eye-catching! And it makes people think I spent lots of time on my nails xD

Okay, that's it for the quick post~ I'm about to continue doing my homework now! Hump day tomorrow, hang in there, sweethearts :P
Love,
Christine

Revlon Facets of Fuchsia and Ulta Fashionably Late Swatches and Review

Hi my dears! Last week was finals week, so sorry for neglecting this blog! But now, I'm done! Wow, it feels wonderful to finish my last final, or at least the last one that REALLY matters for college hahaha.
Anyway, today's post will be of 2 polishes of the same kind. Dark jelly with colored glitter. I believe they are both dupes of some Deborah Lippmans but I dont own any, so I can't compare ):
 Here are the pictures!
Collage, just for fun :P
First, we have: Revlon Facets of Fuchsia, a polish that has undoubtedly made itself famous haha
2 coats of Revlon Facets of Fuchsia with 2 coats of Topcoat, taken from my phone because my camera refuses to capture the pink undertone of the glitter...

Index and Middle finger are 2 coats, ring and pinky are 1.

These are the pics from my camera... See how purple the glitter looks? It's actually much more pink.

And I thought this was artistic feeling, so here you go :D
This polish has been one of my top favorite vampy colors because it's dark, yet it's so fabulous! The formula on this one is quite bad... It's very thick, and thus very lumpy and hard to apply. Maybe a bit of thinner could help. Another note, it is quite a lumpy glitter, so that means its a topcoat eater! Anyway, I really like the color, so I would willingly go through the application pain :P

Next is: Ulta Fashionably Late, a polish that I picked up during their 5 for $5 Holiday sale! Such a steal :3
2 Coats of Fashionably Late with 2 coats of Topcoat.

Taken from my phone, but the red glitter is more vibrant, just like how the first picture is.
The formula on this one... well.. I said Facets of Fuchsia was bad right? Well this one is worse... It's thicker than FoF, and it also picks up more glitter, so the polish is hard to even out and distribute. After the second coat, you kind of have to patch in polish in some places. Again, gorgeous color, so maybe thinner will make me love it more.

Bottle shot. Ugh, it bothers me when FoF's gorgeous fuchsia glitter looks such a bland purple!!!
Anyway, aside from being angry at my camera and my phone's color detecting skills, I'm in quite a good mood today! And I hope you guys have an amazing weekend too! <3 p="">

Christmas Presents Nail Art: Inspired by Nailasaurus!

Soooo, hi everyone! Congrats on surviving the end of the world yesterday haha :3 Today, I have a Christmas Gift Mani! :D I'm sooo in holiday spirit and I received and gave so many gifts yesterday, the last day of school. Love my BFFS :3 Anyway, this mani is inspired by this mani here from the looovely Samasaurus! Glitter, bows and rhinestones. What more can you ask for?

I used 1 coat of Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby for the red and topped it off with ELF's Golden Goddess, a gorgeous gold glitter. For the green, I used 2 coats of Maybelline Color Show Tenacious Teal and topped it off with 1 coat of Sinful Colors Call You Later, a green glitter.

A darker pic to show the gold glitter in Golden Goddess!

Before the ribbons. This is in natural light :) I love the green glitter :3

After black acrylic, apply gold. Then ribbons :D

Maybelline Color Show: Tenacious Teal, ELF: Golden Goddess, Sinful Colors: Call You Later, Ruby Ruby, Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear: Red Carpet, Maybelline Color Show: Bold Gold
That's it for today! I really love this mani, and I'm hoping to keep it on for Christmas. What are you going to wear on your nails for Christmas? :3

Tokidoki Nail Polish: Donutella Swatches and Review

OH MY GOD. okay, so lemme just say that I got these for 4 dollars. 4 DOLLARS. Sephora, they're going on clearance because they're getting rid of the tokidoki collection ): So I went and bought all the colors they had. which is only 3 hhaha.
Anyway, first color is Donutella! Gorgeous red glitter, fuchsia magenta bar glitter, and holo bar glitter suspended in a clear base. In case you guys don't know who Donutella is, shes a little cute character wearing a donut lifesaver with sprinkles! I think the bar glitter really captures the sprinkles well, AND ITS JUST SOOO GLITTERY AND PRETTY OMG.

Look at that adorable heart crossbone! :D

Each polish in this set also comes with a small set of nail stickers attached to the back:
Okayyyy, enough with the cuteness overload! Now lets get to the swatches :P

Close up of 1 coat! All those silver bars are actually holo, more pics later.
This does dry down to a very gritty finish, on my index, and I used 1 coat of OPI, then a coat of Seche Vite.

Alright, now that you see its true gorgeousness, LEMME BRING ON THE HOLO.

Flash, and I appologize for tip shrinkage lol, SECHE VITE I HATE YOU SOMETIMES.
You see how much I love this polish? Well in case you dont, lemme just tell you right here that I do. Sooo much omg, and my mom loves it too, so we're both wearing this on our nails hahaha. Love! Formula was pretty nice, though the glitter is really gritty so it does tend to get thick and pull if you don't wait between coats. Give it a nice 3-4 minutes, and you should be fine (:

That's it for this time! See you guys all next time :3

Ants in my Pants

Hi everyone! Hope you guys had a wonderful Labor Day :3 I sure did! Full day of doing nothing hahahah. Anyway, I was flipping through my closet the other day, and I spotted these pair of shorts I made in... 8th grade? Sewing class hahaha. And the print was really inspiring so I did a mani on it!

Kind of a fail though, I made most of them too fat, like snowmen shaped, hahah. And I crammed too many of them onto my index finger ); But nonetheless, I love them!
Here are the polishes used:
Sally Hansen White on, nameless dark pink, Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby, LA Girls Fairytale, Sinful Colors Black
Would you like a simple pictorial perhaps?

Hehehhe, hope you guy like this! Because I LOOOVE IT <3 p="p">

Vamp

Haiii :3
So yea, another design I had in my folder that I never posted. Again, these were taken with my phone... so apologies for the quality! This was waayyyy back when I had sharp nails hahaha, good times! Might go back to that, what do you guys think?

Look at how long my fingers look :P That's one thing I like about having claw nails!

For this mani, I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby as a base. This stuff is really pigmented, yet thin. I'm not sure how to describe it, like it's pigmented but not opaque as in it cannot block out the colors underneath. Okay I have no idea what I'm saying. Just that I love this red! And China Glaze Liquid Leather for details with a striping brush. Added Magenta, red, and black rhinestones.

Hope you guys like~
